Setting the standard for event sustainablilty
SEMS is a sustainability tool designed for the production of events. SEMS measures sustainability results by event component, event type and industry against the National Event Sustainability Index (NESI).
Sustainable Event Solutions commitment is to benchmark and elevate sustainable business practice within the events industry through the establishment and implementation of the Sustainable Event Management System "SEMS".
SEMS
Is an online software solution to guide the user through the event sustainability pathway. Sustainable Event Solutions examined each element of the event management process, developed an assessment of impact and proactive response.
SEMS Carbon Module
Measures energy and travel CO2 emissions from the production office and event. CO2 emission factors for food, accommodation and waste is currently being updated in conjunction with the Centre for Integrated Sustainability Analysis, University of Sydney.
Certification
An event may be branded and promoted with the Sustainable Event Solutions certification. The three achievement levels are: Benchmark; Best Practice and Beyond Best Practice.
Consultancy
Event sustainability policy and event consultancy pertaining to SEMS. Environmental consultancy is serviced by tda Environmental Consultants.
Industry Standards
SEMS is consistent with the BS8901 British Standard on sustainable event management. SEMS offers the framework to implement the standard. GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) organisational stakeholder. Methodology and reporting structure consistent with the CRI (Corporate Responsibility Index).
